Job Summary We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy staff, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care, interacting with customers, and developing strong relationships with our patients. Key Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with national, federal, and agency policy. Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and manage inventory. Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience, engaging with customers and patients to resolve issues and answer inquiries. Develop strong relationships with valuable customers, adhering to Walgreens' service standards and best practices. Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Personnel Pharmacist, and Store Supervisor, including utilizing pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy. Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the quality improvement program. Responsible for registering all related sales on assigned cash register, collecting and handling coins as required, and taking customers to the OTC aisle to assist in finding merchandise. Handle telephone calls that don't require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians, and method (correct and resubmit) claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner. Assist and support the Pharmacy Department on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription drugs. May assist pharmacists in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required. Assist Pharmacy Supervisor and Personnel Pharmacist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers. Assist with outdoor and indoor maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is stocked with sufficient supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in appearance. Comply with all company guidelines and procedures, maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers. Complete unique assignments and other responsibilities as assigned. Education & Personal Development Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the unique PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration. Attend training and complete PPLs asked by the manager and acquire continuing education credits. Maintain expertise and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest information and developments. Through completion of the Walgreens pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, experience qualifies for 8 (8) college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE). Basic Qualifications Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Preferred Qualifications Choose six months of experience in a retail environment. Choose to have previous work experience with Walgreens. Desirable math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medicines. Desirable computer skills. Knowledge of store inventory management. Prefer PTCB certification.
