About the Role We're seeking an experienced professional to join our IT Data Governance team as a Team Lead. In this role, you'll play a critical part in shaping American Airlines' data culture and driving the adoption of data governance best practices across the organization. As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and make a tangible impact on our business. Key Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and rollout of American Airlines' Data Governance capabilities Design and maintain workflows, standards, processes, policies, and procedures to support data governance Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to enable data governance and data quality standards Work closely with the Data Governance Leadership Board to define and track key metrics and KPIs for each capability Research, review, recommend, and implement new software solutions to support data governance Automate data governance processes and workflows using industry-leading tools and technologies Serve as the product owner for data governance products and capabilities Act as the ambassador and primary promoter for data governance across the organization Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis and/or data governance Experience implementing at least one data governance capability in an organization Strong understanding of data governance concepts, including data stewardship, data quality, and metadata management Experience working with business intelligence tools, data lakes, and data warehouses Knowledge of SQL and data analytics concepts Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) Experience with change management, identifying downstream data impacts for regulatory requirements Familiarity with data governance frameworks and certifications (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments Background in the airline, travel, or hospitality industry Skills and Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously What We Offer At American Airlines, we're committed to providing our employees with a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive work environment.
