Job Summary As a Software Engineering Manager at Disney, you will lead a team of engineers to design, develop, and manage large-scale software services that support Disney's digital products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, technical program management, operations, and other engineering teams to drive project delivery and ensure technical excellence. Key Responsibilities: Lead a team of software engineers to design, develop, and manage large-scale software services that power Disney's digital products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, technical program management, operations, and other engineering teams to drive project delivery and ensure technical excellence. Apply your expertise in database technologies to develop scalable and distributed services. Mentor and coach engineers to ensure that all software uses Disney and industry best practices for data selection. Develop and maintain technical roadmaps, architectures, and designs for large-scale software services. Work with engineering and product leadership to establish priorities and guide direction for engineers and project managers. Foster a culture of trust, innovation, and continuous learning within the team. Provide guidance and direction to engineers and project managers through regular planning and daily stand-ups. Requirements: Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related field of study. Strong programming skills in an object-oriented language, and a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, databases, etc.). Experience with source control systems and CI/CD pipelines. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud infrastructure and scaling. Experience managing and mentoring a team. Knowledge of Disney's technology stack and architecture. Experience working with remote global teams and an adaptable schedule to meet in various time zones.
