Key Responsibilities Work on and edit daily downloads of assigned Governmental Program claims, adhering to regulatory, contractual, compliance, and BHSF mandates/guidelines. Optimize the timely transmittal of accurate and clean claims to achieve daily set thresholds, protecting payer filing deadlines by utilizing all available resources to resolve held claims. Communicate effectively with various BHSF departments responsible for Revenue Cycle delays, collaborating with Billing Management to achieve resolution and drive process improvements. Train new employees and assist management with auditing queues during the probation period, ensuring seamless onboarding and high-quality performance. Serve as a backup to bill all carriers, taking on additional queues as needed to support the team and drive business continuity. Analyze and resolve complex billing issues, leveraging knowledge of government regulations, medical terminology, and coding guidelines to drive accurate and timely claim submissions. Essential and Preferred Qualifications Education and Experience While a High School diploma, Certificate, GED, or equivalent is required, a Bachelor's degree (BA) is preferred. You should have 4-7 years of prior experience in billing claims, with a strong background in Medicare or Medicaid Billing. Current BHSF employees must have a high "fully meets" or "exceeds" merit rating (3.5 - 4.0). Certifications and Skills CPC, CPC-H, CCS, or RMC certifications are a plus, demonstrating your expertise and commitment to the field. You should possess extensive knowledge of government-related regulations, including National, State, and Local guidelines for Medicare, Medicaid, and Champus/Tricare. Medical Necessity and Correct Coding Initiative knowledge is also essential. Key skills required for success in this role include: Analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze complex billing issues and drive resolution. Detail-oriented and problem-solving skills to ensure accurate and timely claim submissions. Excellent time management and multitasking skills to meet daily transmission targets and work under pressure. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders and drive business outcomes. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and online verifications (DDE), with a strong understanding of medical terminology, Revenue Codes, DRG guidelines, ICD9/10, CPT4, Modifiers, and HCPC codes.
