Job Overview This position is located in the Shared Services Unit, Information Technology (IT) Department, at blithequark's headquarters in Blythewood, SC. As an IT Customer Support Specialist III, you will be responsible for providing technical support to blithequark users and workstations, primarily at the Blythewood headquarters facility. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems, and your excellent customer service skills will be vital in providing support to our users. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support for agency-specific software and hardware as needed, including the removal, installation, and replacement of new workstations, peripherals, and troubleshooting common desktop applications issues. Assist the Desktop team in the imaging, upgrading, and rollout of IT technology assets to be placed in field offices, including traveling with team staff to assist with delegated assignments and projects. Cover and provide logistical and technical support to field offices as a backup team member, including making road trips to active field offices to resolve technical issues. Utilize web-based forms and the Service Manager trouble ticket tracking system to document all system trouble/help calls, along with recommendations, notes, and actions taken. Assist with inventory management and tracking of assets as necessary, and fill out agency-required paperwork in a neat and accurate manner. Perform other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems and provide exceptional customer service to our users. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems. An associate degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience. Ability to interpret and apply rules and regulations, and effective oral and written communication skills. A positive attitude and high comfort level in a team-oriented, fast-paced working environment. Experience working with computers in a Windows environment, and the ability and aptitude to learn, develop, and use IT technical trouble-shooting skills. Familiarity with handling inventory and stock items, including the use of computer software for documenting, tracking, and maintaining accurate records. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Ability to interpret and recognize current hardware and software standards. A+ certification, which demonstrates your expertise in IT technical support. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills, including experience with Microsoft products and troubleshooting common desktop applications issues. Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide support to users in a professional and courteous manner. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a self-motivated and proactive approach to your work.
