About the Position As an IT Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for developing information from subject matter experts into standardized formats for technology purchases, evaluating and recording cost impact for renewals budget planning, and managing the conditional approval queue. You will act as the point of contact for "IT as an internal vendor" for requestors, ensuring seamless communication and effective collaboration. Your expertise will be invaluable in monitoring quoting, approval, allocation, and chargeback processes to ensure compliance with university policies. You will also remain abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks, contributing to the continuous improvement of our IT procurement processes. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and track IT conditional approvals across multiple divisions, ensuring timely and efficient processing. Develop information from subject matter experts into standardized formats for technology purchases, promoting clarity and consistency. Evaluate and record cost impact for renewals budget planning, providing valuable insights for informed decision-making. Manage the conditional approval queue, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with requestors and stakeholders. Act as the point of contact for "IT as an internal vendor" for requestors, providing exceptional customer service and support. Monitor quoting, approval, allocation, and chargeback processes to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures. Remain up-to-date with existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks, applying this knowledge to drive process improvements. Essential Functions and Responsibilities The role will be divided into two primary areas of focus. Approximately 75% of your time will be dedicated to identifying and assessing software vulnerabilities using both manual methods and automated tools. You will mentor software developers in adopting secure coding techniques and secure coding standards, assisting product development teams in establishing static analysis and security testing processes. Your expertise will be crucial in promoting a security mindset throughout software development, from design to implementation to testing. You will also evaluate new technologies and tools to detect, triage, and mitigate software security defects, identifying and addressing weaknesses in the existing software development life cycle to improve overall software security. The remaining 25% of your time will be allocated to performing application administration tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and applications. Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will require a bachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline, combined with the ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly. You must be able to work effectively with outside vendors and internal customers in a professional manner, demonstrating excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. Your ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature will be essential. Additionally, you will require excellent computer and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
