Job Goal and Performance Responsibilities As a Math Coach, you will be responsible for providing instructional coaching to teachers in planning and instruction in mathematics. You will report to the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning and/or Instructional Director. Your key responsibilities will include: Applying a deep understanding of math standards, content, instruction, and best practices to support teachers in planning and delivering responsive instruction to students with varied abilities. Facilitating reflection conversations with individual teachers and grade-level teams to advance teaching practices. Modeling best instructional practices through actual classroom demonstrations. Supporting teachers in using data to inform instruction and drive student growth. Creating resources that promote innovative best practices and leadership in education through published lessons, courses, and books. Collaborating with teachers to integrate purposeful instructional technology in math lessons. Working collaboratively and communicating effectively with administrators, teachers, other school staff, and parents to strengthen all aspects of the instructional coaching program. Collaborating with the district math coordinator to develop strategic plans and goals for math instruction in the district. Supporting the implementation of the district-wide, vertically aligned scope and sequence. Fostering a strength-based approach and growth mindset to promote a positive culture and climate in the district. Participating in professional development, research, reading, and inquiry sessions to stay abreast of developments in best classroom practices, technology, and assessment. Providing professional development to teachers and staff, and developing and facilitating professional development at a building and district level. Performing other duties and assuming responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent or designee. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A strong knowledge base in mathematical content and instructional best practices. Successful teaching experience with diverse learners (middle school teaching experience preferred). EL Certification (preferred). A deep understanding of math standards, content, instruction, and best practices. Excellent coaching and facilitation skills. The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in math education. Skills and Competencies To excel as a Math Coach, you will need to possess: Strong content knowledge in mathematics. Excellent instructional coaching skills.
