Job Overview As a vital first point of contact for blithequark, the Medical Intake/Data Entry role supports the Utilization Review Department by performing the collection of intake information, creating electronic patient files, and sorting and mailing certification letters. This position is crucial in ensuring seamless communication and coordination between patients, healthcare providers, and our utilization review team. Key Responsibilities Answer Utilization Review line and direct calls to the appropriate person, retrieve voicemail, and transfer messages to the appropriate nurse. Collect demographic information to create patient files, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Print, mail, fax, and copy correspondence as necessary, maintaining organized and efficient workflows. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities. Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: High School Diploma or equivalent, with courses in computers, medical terminology, data entry, word processing, and secretarial training desired. Knowledge of computers, data entry in databases, word processing, and multiple line telephone systems, with bi-lingual skills helpful but not required. At least one year of professional office experience, with experience in a healthcare environment required. A helpful and friendly telephone personality, with the ability to proof written material accurately and enter data with precision. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work with a variety of professional staff, providing clerical backup as needed. An understanding of customer service principles, with a commitment to delivering exceptional support to our patients and clients.
