Job Overview: Meeting Recorder for COS Meetings We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meeting Recorder to capture the record for local government committee and board meetings. These meetings are held on a monthly or bi-monthly basis at various times and days, primarily located throughout the Phoenix and Scottsdale area. The ideal candidate will have the ability to attend meetings in person and produce high-quality meeting minutes. While experience in producing meeting minutes is highly desirable, we are also open to considering reporting school students or individuals with backgrounds in transcription, secretarial work, or legal experience. Key Responsibilities: Attend local government committee and board meetings in person to capture meeting minutes accurately and efficiently. Produce high-quality meeting minutes that reflect the discussions, decisions, and actions taken during the meetings. Commit to meeting all deadlines for submitting meeting minutes, ensuring timely delivery to our clients. Maintain a high degree of professionalism in all interactions, both during meetings and in communications with our team and clients. Utilize a Windows computer equipped with Microsoft Word 2010 or higher to prepare and submit meeting minutes. Upload and download files, and perform other basic computer functions as required for the role. Ensure a reliable mode of transportation to attend meetings at various locations throughout the Phoenix and Scottsdale area. Essential Qualifications: Be legally eligible to work in the United States. General knowledge of committee and board meetings, including understanding the importance of accuracy and confidentiality. A high degree of professionalism, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to commit to meeting all deadlines and deliver high-quality work under time constraints. Reliable access to a Windows computer with Microsoft Word 2010 or higher, high-speed Internet connection, and basic computer skills. A current U.S. bank account to receive contract payments. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in producing meeting minutes, either in a professional or academic setting. Background in transcription, secretarial work, or legal experience, which can be beneficial in understanding the nuances of meeting recordings and minute-taking. Students of reporting schools are also encouraged to apply, as this role can provide valuable hands-on experience in the field.
