Responsibilities The Non-Clinical Hospice Intake Coordinator will be responsible for: Serving as the first line of customer service for internal and external customers Receiving and documenting patient referrals to hospice services, ensuring compliance with applicable coverage criteria Reviewing referrals for appropriate care setting and communicating with care center, business development, and referral source when necessary Gathering information to assist the clinical team in scheduling the evaluation visit Communicating pertinent patient information to the care center team via approved processes Coordinating with other departments for insurance verification and payer authorization as needed Professionally communicating and following up with referral sources regarding required documentation for a complete referral Meeting productivity expectations with quality documentation of complete referrals, including all required follow-up Coordinating the evaluation/admission process Performing other duties as assigned Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have: A High School diploma or GED equivalent One year of administrative experience in a healthcare environment Reliable internet service and the ability to work from home with minimal disruption to the workday Familiarity with general use and functions of the computer Preferred Qualifications While not required, we prefer candidates with: Home health or hospice intake experience Homecare-Homebase experience Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits Amedisys is committed to investing in the growth and development of our employees.
