Experienced Online Crisis Chat Text Supervisor for 988 Crisis Services - Leadership and Mental Health Support Expertise Required

This role will play a pivotal part in overseeing the daily operations of our chat and text services, ensuring that our Crisis Chat Counselors are equipped to provide the highest level of support to our clients. Job Overview The Online Crisis Chat Text Supervisor will be responsible for the overall functioning of the 988 Crisis Chat Program, including the supervision of all Crisis Chat Counselors. This position requires a unique blend of leadership, mental health expertise, and technical skills. The successful candidate will have a strong background in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and mental health services, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. As a supervisor, you will provide guidance, support, and oversight to our team of Crisis Chat Counselors, ensuring that they are equipped to handle a wide range of crisis situations and provide the best possible support to our clients. Key Responsibilities Provide supervision and support to Crisis Chat Counselors, including monitoring of all crisis chats and ensuring that each Counselor completes 1.5 chats/texts per hour Conduct risk assessments, safety planning, de-escalation, and follow-up with chat visitors, as well as provide positive rapport-building and crisis intervention Ensure that thorough documentation is completed for all crisis chat/text interactions and that the program responds to a minimum of 2,171 chats/texts per month Provide daily ongoing monitoring of chats and texts to ensure quality, with an expectation of Counselors scoring a minimum of 75% on quality evaluations Conduct weekly individual supervision sessions with Counselors and complete weekly quality assurance reports Provide training to new Crisis Chat Counselors and complete performance evaluations and yearly reviews Meet with the Assistant Director of Crisis Services regularly to discuss program operations, concerns, and potential improvements Ability to work independently with confidence, as well as lead a team of professionals in a fast-paced environment Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree in any Counseling field or Social Work preferred Minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health services, preferably in crisis intervention services, suicide prevention, and intervention Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to function successfully in an environment requiring immediate response to urgent situations Computer skills with various software, including Microsoft Products, and proficiency in using technology to support crisis intervention services Ability to work a hybrid schedule, including remote and on-site work, with a minimum of 48 hours of training related to active listening skills, suicide prevention practices, and utilization of agency resources Preferred Qualifications Experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with a strong background in mental health services and crisis intervention Knowledge of local and statewide community resources, with the ability to provide information and referral to visitors as appropriate Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing excellent support services to clients Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth and development.
