As a remote part-time customer service specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive exceptional care and support, while also contributing to the coordination of patient care and facilitating communication between healthcare providers, facilities, and patients. Job Overview arenaflex is seeking an experienced part-time remote customer service specialist to join its team. As a customer service representative, you will be responsible for answering a high volume of inbound calls, navigating electronic health records, and providing excellent customer service to patients, healthcare providers, and facilities. This is a part-time position, working 28 hours per week, with a schedule that includes Monday and Tuesday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, and Wednesday to Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. You will not be required to work weekends or holidays. Key Responsibilities Navigate electronic health records to obtain and validate historical information, capture and document demographic and financial information, and maintain accountability for accurate data entry while ensuring patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA. Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations. Leverage critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity, researching complex issues in the electronic health record and consulting/escalating to clinical staff when necessary. Schedule patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verify and update insurance, and collect and document demographics, maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions. Communicate directly with providers (physicians) to relay pertinent clinical information during after hours, and document and send messages to providers and clinical staff in the electronic health record for clinical-based needs. Essential Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 2-5 years of experience in customer service or healthcare, with recent experience preferred. Typing test required, with a minimum speed of 35 words per minute and 90% accuracy. Must live within 1 hour of St. Louis, Missouri. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of electronic health records and medical terminology. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research complex issues and escalate to clinical staff when necessary.
