Job Overview We are currently seeking an experienced and talented Preschool Aid and Teacher Assistant to join our team in Tampa, FL. As a Preschool Aid, you will play a vital role in developing activities for preschool children, assisting teachers in implementing educational objectives, and promoting parent involvement in the program. Key Responsibilities Implement approved curricula in the classroom and guide daily activities, field trips, and equipment arrangement in collaboration with the teacher Cooperate with other staff and classroom groups to maintain a smooth functioning center, adapting to changing needs as required Write weekly observations per assessment procedure and use parent conferences to discuss child development and progress Eat with and assist children in developing social and self-help skills, promoting sound nutritional practices and engaging in developmentally appropriate activities Guide children's acquisition of social skills, attend staff training and meetings, and participate in board and parent meetings as requested Assist in providing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment, ensuring at least 80% of children are kindergarten ready, and maintaining positive classroom behavior Assist the teacher in maintaining comprehensive and ongoing portfolio assessments, conducting home visits and parent conferences, and recruiting and orienting volunteers Maintain strict confidentiality regarding Head Start/Early Head Start children, families, and staff, and perform other duties as required Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, as well as a National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC) for Pre-school or Infant/Toddler Endorsement. Alternatively, an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field will also be considered. You will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of early childhood education principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
