Key Responsibilities Assume responsibility for nursing care and outcomes for a designated group of patients, utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with other healthcare team members. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and document progress toward goal achievement in a timely and accurate manner. Promote patient safety and quality care, adhering to the National Patient Safety Goals and communicating effectively with the healthcare team to escalate situations as needed. Establish caring relationships with patients, families, and staff, providing patient and family education, and assisting in discharge planning with consideration for patient and family readiness, barriers, and alternatives. Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide nursing care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-related criteria pertinent to the patients served in the assigned area. Administer medication and parenteral therapy in accordance with policy and procedure, including blood administration, and establish priorities for patient care delivery using critical thinking skills. Essential Qualifications Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program. Registered Nurse License - NYS. BLS Certification. Preferred Qualifications BSN preferred. 1 year of recent Med/Surg clinical experience required. Critical Care/ED experience preferred. Specialty certification (CEN) preferred. BCLS required. ACLS, NIHSS, and 8hr Stroke Education required within 3 months. PALS required within 6 months. TNCC required within 1 year.
