About the Role As a Remote Data Entry Specialist at blithequark, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our data management systems. You will work closely with our Application Development team to implement data systems, build data streams, and develop logical and physical data models. Your expertise in data modeling and data management will be essential in helping us to make informed business decisions and drive growth. Key Responsibilities Work with the Application Development team to execute data systems, assemble data streams, and foster logical and physical data models. Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and support application, team, and business use cases. Design, enhance, and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects according to company guidelines. Develop data modeling solutions optimized for social, layered, and NoSQL databases. Maintain applied, logical, and physical data models alongside corresponding metadata. Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models. Suggest opportunities for reuse of data models in new contexts. Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts. Assess data models and physical databases for changes and errors. Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness. Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose suitable solutions. Guide System Analysts, Architects, Programmers, and others on project boundaries and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. Review modifications to existing software to improve efficiency and performance. Examine new application design and suggest remedies when required. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong academic record and a degree in Computer Science or a related field. You should also have at least 10 years of hands-on experience in data warehousing, with a solid understanding of various data modeling procedures for data warehousing, including 3NF, layered, and hybrid approaches. Experience working with large-scale data warehouses (100 TB+) and distributed data stores is also essential. Preferred Qualifications Graduate degree in Computer Science or a related field. Experience working with MPP, social, and NoSQL technologies, such as BigData, Hive, SQL*Server, Hadoop, Cassandra, Cloud DBs like BigQuery or Snowflake. Excellent experience working with globally distributed teams in a collaborative and supportive manner. Amazing interpersonal and communication skills across a variety of stakeholders, with the ability to negotiate with and influence others.
