Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and skilled Non-Conforming Loan Underwriter to join our team. This is a 100% remote position, offering a hybrid work model that combines the flexibility of working from home with the opportunity to collaborate with our team in our remote office. As a Non-Conforming Loan Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting various non-QM loan products, performing manual underwriting, and ensuring that all loan files are thoroughly analyzed and compliant with company and investor guidelines. Key Responsibilities Complete thorough analysis of loan files to determine compliance with company and investor guidelines Check the accuracy of all calculations and data integrity Recommend loan decisions to underwriting manager for loan amounts exceeding authority limitations Maintain company standards for productivity levels and comply with the company policy of 48-hour underwriting turnaround time and 24-hour turnaround time for clearing conditions Communicate loan decisions to appropriate parties both verbally and in writing Underwrite various non-QM loan products, requiring detailed familiarity with various loan programs Perform manual underwriting, analyzing complex personal and/or business financials and tax profiles Be available to processors for general guideline interpretations and questions on specific loan files Respond to post-closing reviews and audits in a timely fashion Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: Minimum two years of recent NON-QM mortgage underwriting experience, with solid working knowledge of underwriting guidelines for NON-QM Investors Ability to review and calculate complex personal and/or business financials and tax profiles Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience working in a fast-paced team environment Encompass loan origination system experience required (1+ years) Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Strong knowledge of non-QM loan products and underwriting guidelines Experience with manual underwriting and analysis of complex financial data Familiarity with Encompass loan origination system and other relevant software Proven track record of meeting productivity standards and deadlines Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines Strong knowledge of non-QM loan products and underwriting guidelines Familiarity with Encompass loan origination system and other relevant software Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At our company, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
