Job Overview In this critical role, you will be responsible for scoping, planning, executing, and closing medical device projects, leveraging your expertise in project management basics, including scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and effective communication. As a seasoned project manager, you will define and manage project scope across the product development life cycle, establish and facilitate cross-functional team meetings, and lead Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) through influence and credibility. Your ability to lead teams through a systematic Stage Gate product development process, organize and present key project metrics, and multitask between projects while maintaining a cooperative working relationship with colleagues will be essential to your success. Key Responsibilities: Scope, plan, execute, and close medical device projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards. Apply knowledge of project management basics, including scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and communication, to drive project success. Define and manage project scope across the product development life cycle, ensuring effective establishment, organization, facilitation, and follow-up of cross-functional team meetings. Lead SMEs through influence and credibility, leveraging technical know-how to build strong relationships and drive project outcomes. Lead teams through a systematic Stage Gate product development process, ensuring adherence to process and quality standards. Organize and present key project metrics, progress, and risks during Project Reviews, providing transparent and timely updates to stakeholders. Multitask between projects as directed by the Program Manager and VP, maintaining a cooperative and constructive working relationship with colleagues in a fast-paced environment. Develop and deliver formal communications, including presentations and reports, to internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Forge strong, transparent customer relationships, protecting Confluent's interests while ensuring common understanding of requirements and expectations. Develop insight into internal and external business models, performance metrics, and financial drivers, managing project budgets and ensuring alignment with business objectives. Essential Qualifications: To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need: A BS Degree in Engineering, with an MS Degree in Engineering preferred. PMP Certification and/or Professional Project Management Certificate preferred. At least 6 years of project management experience in a regulated environment, with a proven track record of delivering complex medical device projects. Strong knowledge of project management basics, including scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and communication. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop and deliver formal communications to internal and external stakeholders. Experience and savvy in dealing with external customers, with the ability to forge strong, transparent relationships and negotiate effectively. Strong presentation capabilities, with the ability to develop and deliver formal communications. Ability to quickly and constructively respond to unexpected challenges, balancing tact, negotiation, and directness. Preferred Qualifications: While not essential, the following qualifications will be highly regarded: Experience working in a medical device development and manufacturing environment, with knowledge of relevant regulations and standards. Familiarity with Stage Gate product development processes and Agile methodologies. Experience with project management tools and software, such as Asana, Trello, or MS Project. Strong business acumen, with the ability to develop insight into internal and external business models, performance metrics, and financial drivers.
