Job Overview and Responsibilities We are seeking an experienced and passionate Software Developer to join our team, focusing on the maintenance and expansion of our flagship Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) product. This mature yet continuously evolving software is designed for the semiconductor manufacturing industry and consists of a single code base that generates four distributed components and over 250 communication DLLs. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for: Learning and understanding our software to appreciate how our customers utilize it and identifying areas for improvement Translating customer needs into features that extend existing functionality without compromising its integrity Implementing new features using C++ and ensuring seamless integration with the current code base Identifying and resolving bugs to maintain the highest level of software quality and reliability Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that our software solutions meet the evolving needs of the semiconductor manufacturing industry Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you should possess: A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field At least 3 years of experience working in the semiconductor manufacturing industry, focusing on data acquisition and analysis projects 3+ years of experience in writing engineering code, with a strong proficiency in C++ and Object-Oriented Design Demonstrated ability and passion for programming, with a keen interest in solving real-world problems through software development Experience with multi-threaded applications using the ownership model, and familiarity with MFCs (or the willingness to learn) Knowledge of databases and experience working with them A dynamic skill set, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and work environments Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently with sensitive and confidential information Preferred Qualifications and Skills While not mandatory, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable: Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment, with excellent communication and collaboration skills Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment, with a deep understanding of the industry's challenges and opportunities Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At INFICON, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
