About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Customer Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Customer Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and nurturing new composite materials and manufacturing technologies aligned to market and customer needs. You will lead concept development activities for new opportunities, coupling material, process, and part design. You will be the principal technical interface with our customers and be the voice of the customer for blithequark's internal functions. Key Responsibilities Develop and nurture new composite materials and manufacturing technologies aligned to market and customer needs Lead concept development activities for new opportunities coupling material, process, and part design Be the principal technical interface with customers and be the voice of the customer for blithequark's internal functions Assess technology gaps and provide advice for future product and process development Promote blithequark products and technologies and articulate value propositions to customers Advise on materials and process selections for new composite material applications Additional Responsibilities Lead and support projects requiring material manufacturing, prototyping, and part builds from thermoset prepregs, thermoplastics, adhesives, primers, and surfacing films with processes including autoclave, out-of-autoclave, press-molding, resin infusion Provide field technical support to major aerospace OEM and subcontractors for new and legacy programs Identify and lead resolution of material issues in aerospace composite shops Act as the "Voice of the Customer" to liaise with the greater part of blithequark to affect a mutually acceptable resolution Advise customers on processing and properties of blithequark products Ability to support trade studies and provide recommendations on product options and selection based on customer parts and applications Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree minimum (in relevant Engineering or Material Science discipline) Master's or PhD degree is a plus Knowledge of aerospace composite part fabrication Experience resolving product and process capability issues in composite part applications Minimum 5 years demonstrated work experience in composites including problem-solving, technical presentations, project management, relationship building, and identification of new opportunities Minimum of 2 years' experience on reviewing composite part designs/drawings for manufacturability and specification compliance Understanding of the aerospace industry including OEMs, their suppliers, various programs, aerospace quality systems, composite testing requirements, statistical process control and capability, etc. Preferred Qualifications Experience in leading and supporting research and development activities that aim at achieving technical and business objectives Knowledge of simulation analysis and development for composite part manufacturing and structural performance Experience in identifying potential new applications for blithequark products and supporting Account Managers in capturing new business What We Offer Compensation and Benefits The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $90,880 to $113,600 per year 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations Training platform for all employees Free language courses (24 languages available) Free well-being sessions (physical and psychological) Career Growth Opportunities Opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and innovative company Chance to work with a diverse, global team of over 13,000 associates Collaborative and supportive work environment Work Environment and Culture At blithequark, we value diversity and inclusion.
