Job Overview The Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for leading the analysis, strategy, and tactical planning across various groups and levels within the organization. Key Responsibilities Utilize quantitative analysis and data presentation to uncover insights and understand the drivers of our business Design and implement full-cycle analysis experiments, reports, and dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools Mentor junior professionals on advanced techniques and help them address challenges Develop recommendations and use statistical procedures and hypothesis testing to validate findings Provide insights to help business and product leaders understand market dynamics, customer behaviors, and long-term trends Identify and measure levers to help move key metrics and make recommendations Work backward from understanding and measuring problems to ideating solutions Report against our objectives by identifying key metrics and building executive-facing dashboards to track progress Collaborate with engineering to implement, report, validate, and monitor our logging Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field 4+ years of experience in data analysis, consulting, or a related role Experience working with pipeline optimization, customer segmentation, cohort analyses, time series analyses, regression models, and more Proficiency in SQL queries, ETL, A/B Testing, and statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, experimentation, regressions) with statistical packages like Matlab, R, SAS, or Python Expertise in at least one analysis and visualization tool (e.g., Chartio, Looker, Tableau) The ability to take ambiguous problems and solve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported way Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Master's or Ph.D.) Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing systems Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong technical skills, with proficiency in a range of data analysis and visualization tools Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand the commercial implications of data-driven insights Career Growth and Learning Opportunities At blithequark, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
