About the Job We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join our Customer Testing Analytics team. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be an experimenter, using arenaflex's data to design and measure large-scale customer-level trials and in-market tests to determine the business impact from our most critical initiatives. In this broad and dynamic role, you will develop and apply statistical modeling tools, techniques, and datasets to identify causal drivers of business impact. Your analysis will directly inform wider rollout strategies for our customer and retail digital programs. Key Responsibilities Influence and support our largest strategic initiatives - You will provide guidance and expertise to help business partners in how to effectively measure and validate our most critical business hypotheses; You will support the full scope of testing across the business, from ideation and exploratory data analysis all the way through measurement of sales and trade lift for initiatives at scale. Collaborate to develop cross-functional learning plans - You will partner with technology, operations, marketing, and external vendors to develop comprehensive learning plans, aligning program objectives to specific and quantifiable partner, customer, and business insights. Deliver complex analytical projects - You will develop fit-for-purpose test versus control models and other descriptive and inferential analysis to determine the causal effect on sales, transactions, margin, or potentially loyalty from specific interventions and inform go/no-go decisions. Lead data preparation of complex datasets and ensure accurate analysis setup - You will be responsible for the extraction, manipulation, and blending of a wide variety of data sets like customer, transactional, and clickstream datasets; To ensure accurate trial setup, you will collaborate across functional boundaries and navigate the complexities of our technology stack and integrations with external vendors. Create compelling stories supported by data - You will work under consultative or self-directed guidance to produce meaningful insights and stories to support testing recommendations; You will present these stories both verbally and visually to varying levels of business partners, up to and including senior management. Lead and evangelize the experimental methodology - You will be a role model for trial design and measurement, developing and spreading best practices across your business partners. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree with a quantitative emphasis. Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Economics, Marketing Research, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in data analysis or a related field Strong data querying skills (SQL) and advanced proficiency in R or Python Experience handling data at scale via Spark (PySpark, SparkR, Scala, or Java) or other sources to generate business insights. Proficiency with graphical analysis and data visualization (ggplot2, seaborn, matplotlib, Plotly). Solid knowledge of A/B testing and inferential statistics (sample size determination/power analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, etc.). Some experience with event tracking for web and mobile applications, using tools like Google Analytics, mParticle, and similar platforms to collect and analyze clickstream data accurately. Solid collaboration instincts - desire and ability to work with partners to achieve the best outcome for the business. Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills. The role requires effective communication with colleagues, partners, and leaders from diverse backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications Experience with industry-standard A/B testing tools and technologies, such as Google Optimize, Optimizely, Apptimize, etc., or Adobe/Test and Learn software strongly preferred.
