About the Role As the first full-time hire in our development team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of blithequark. We're looking for a self-starter who can work independently, contribute to strategy and tactics, and collaborate with our commercial teams to drive business growth. You'll be the technical leader, responsible for making key decisions, providing thought leadership, and guiding clients through the implementation of our chatbot solutions. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the development of our chatbot technology, using Ruby, Sinatra Framework, and PostgresSQL Collaborate with customers to solve problems, improve performance, and explore new ideas and ways of working Provide technical thought leadership and guidance to clients, including designing new features and functionality Estimate and create backlogs, ensuring deliverable and commercially-viable solutions Architect solutions, interact with customers, and advise on implementation as a solution architect Collaborate with designers to facilitate UX/UI handoff to development Create strong, clear technical documentation Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: Experience with Ruby (or Ruby on Rails) Strong understanding of Sinatra Framework & PostgresSQL Experience with Data & APIs Experience with Javascript & Vue.js Able to produce and review estimates, ensuring deliverable and commercially-viable solutions Experience in technically leading programmes of work, making significant decisions that affect technology choices and solution strategy Capable of providing technical thought leadership and guidance to clients Excellent understanding of solutions deployment and operation as well as functionality Excellent communicator, able to explain, persuade, and justify decisions and concepts to people at all levels Desired Qualifications While not essential, experience with the following would be beneficial: Heroku & Redis Python Machine Learning Live chat products/widgets Chatbots & statistics Data or technology products within the Automotive Industry Skills and Competencies To thrive in this role, you'll need: Strong technical skills, with the ability to learn and adapt quickly Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a small team Strong problem-solving skills, with a tenacious attitude Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, changing environment Ability to collaborate with designers, facilitate UX/UI handoff, and interact with customers Career Growth and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we're committed to helping you grow and develop your skills.
