Key Responsibilities In this critical role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our art, layout, and engineering groups to understand pain points and inefficiencies in our development process. Your key responsibilities will include: Proactively identifying areas for improvement across disciplines and collaborating with the team to generate candidate solutions. Assisting in the development, maintenance, and extension of our present set of engine-specific and custom gear that we use daily. Building and guiding custom asset pipelines to streamline our development workflow. Growing Spry Fox’s proprietary libraries, tools, and technologies across game engines and platforms. Collaborating with the team to weigh tradeoffs, given the problem context and development timetable, and implementing the selected solution. Supporting the adoption of new solutions by the team and ensuring a smooth transition. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong passion for empowering others to do their best work. You should have experience with the overall device lifecycle, including discovering issues, comparing potential answers, implementing tools, and evaluating their effectiveness. Additionally, you should be comfortable working with custom standalone gear and have a keen interest in growing gear that can be utilized by many game development disciplines. Technical skills required for this position include proficiency in programming languages such as C#, C++, and Python. The ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment and excellent communication skills are also essential. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, experience with custom game engines, Unreal or Unity, and JavaScript and web tech would be highly advantageous.
