About the Role: Substitute Teacher in Raritan, NJ We're seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Raritan, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to work on your own schedule while making a positive impact on students' lives. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Adapt to various teaching environments, including different grade levels and subject areas Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, as needed Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a substitute teacher or in a related educational role Special education experience or training Experience working with diverse student populations Skills and Competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities Classroom management and organization skills Trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management techniques Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms to support instruction What We Offer: Competitive pay rates: up to $190 for day-to-day assignments, and more for long-term assignments Weekly pay: get paid for your work on a timely basis W-2 employment: no fussing with taxes or benefits administration $0 onboarding costs: we reimburse you for expenses related to state background checks Referral incentives: earn $100 gift cards when you refer friends to sub with Scoot Free online training: access to resources and professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills Ongoing support: 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant and just a call away for any concerns or questions Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Scoot Education, we're committed to helping you grow professionally and develop your skills as an educator.
