About the Role We are seeking an experienced Technical Leader to own the technical strategy and implementation of our global loyalty, payments, financing, and fraud platform across all our retail brands, including Wayfair, Perigold, Allmodern, Joss & Main, and Birch Lane. As a key member of our team, you will empower a cross-functional team across engineering, product management, design, and analytics to develop and manage multi-annual technological strategies for Wayfair's payment platform. Your expertise will be crucial in architecting and evaluating code to enforce quality, scalability, and reliability, ensuring our platform is efficient, stable, and secure. Key Responsibilities Serve as the technical front design lead for a critical domain, creating a platform with multiple systems inside and outside Wayfair Play a key role in the development and management of multi-annual technological strategies for Wayfair's payment platform and ecosystem Architect and evaluate code to enforce quality, scalability, and reliability, ensuring our platform is efficient, stable, and secure Technically debate on the platform and help create stable, documented, and concrete solutions Control the architecture of the platform, ensuring a highly scalable and reliable system Focus on the team's willingness to test, monitor, deploy, document, and actively maintain our platform Identify technical risks and propose solutions to meet the technical vision of the department Influence and contribute to the department's strategy, supporting a culture of innovation and excellence Support and develop additional opportunities for education and growth, ensuring our team stays up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends Identify external cooperation and reliable experts on topics relevant to our platform, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve Essential Qualifications 3+ years of technical experience, with a mix of start-up and large company experience preferred Experience with payment platforms, domain expertise, especially with larger aggregations (credit cards, financing, BNPL) Technological experience in e-commerce or customer-facing platforms at a high-growth company is a plus Experience with software development in a high-growth environment, with a focus on scalability and reliability Experience with cloud-based technology, including architecture and creation of large-scale systems Excellent communication skills, with experience in managing research and influencing stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud-native technology (GCP, AWS, Azure) on a large scale Knowledge of distributed systems and data-based technology Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git) Strong understanding of security and compliance principles, with experience in implementing secure coding practices Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Wayfair, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth and development.
