Our Product Managers play a crucial role in guiding products from conception to launch, connecting the technical and business worlds, and breaking down complex problems into actionable steps. Google Compute Engine (GCE) is a comprehensive portfolio of infrastructure products and services that drive business growth annually. As the business scales and customers bring new workloads to Google Cloud, our product leaders work closely with customers to define new products and services, build roadmaps on performance, efficiency, flexibility, and scalability, and deliver innovative solutions that power Google Cloud. Key Responsibilities Drive new capabilities for VM instances, including intercepting new technologies, roadmap planning, business growth forecasting, ecosystem, and customer adoption. Manage product strategy for the VM family, including associated business outcomes, and present to key leadership inside Google Cloud. Work across hardware, software, research, and product teams towards long-term product goals, understanding competitive dynamics and industry trends. Provide data-driven insights to prioritize engineering initiatives and maximize return on investment. Define and drive go-to-market strategies for product launches, drive new capabilities in the foundational Compute Infrastructure layer, and deliver innovation for Google Cloud. Minimum Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must have: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in product management or related technical role. Experience developing or launching infrastructure products or technologies within networking, storage, compute hardware, databases, file systems, data analytics, cluster management, and other software infrastructure areas. Experience in one or more of the following: Compute Engine, Data Center Technology, Virtual Machines, Servers. Preferred Qualifications To stand out as a candidate, you'll ideally have: A Master's degree in a technology or business-related field. Experience in one or more of the following: compute architecture, data center infrastructure, CPU (x86/Arm) and I/O technologies, Cloud Infrastructure, Storage, with knowledge of the operational aspects of Cloud Servers. Knowledge of different workload requirements and their demands on the underlying infrastructure. Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess: Strong product management skills, with the ability to drive products from conception to launch. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. Strong technical skills, with a deep understanding of infrastructure products and technologies. Data-driven decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights. A customer-centric approach, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions that meet customer needs.
