As a key member of the Graduate Resource Center, this pivotal role will provide comprehensive support to graduate students, fostering their academic achievement, personal growth, and career advancement. Key Responsibilities: Guiding Students towards Success Oversee a roster of assigned students in the School of Education's M.A. and Ed.D. programs, providing personalized academic, career, and social-emotional support. Collaborate with students to develop tailored success plans, focusing on their personal, academic, and career goals. Conduct regular meetings with students, both in-person and virtually, to offer guidance on academic advising, success coaching, writing support, and career development. Provide targeted outreach to students identified as being at risk, utilizing data-driven strategies to promote student persistence and completion. Develop and implement targeted interventions for students on academic probation, ensuring timely and effective support. Facilitate workshops and training seminars on topics such as academic success, writing support, career development, and time management, catering to the diverse needs of graduate students. Collaborate with program directors, admissions, and other stakeholders to promote School of Education programs and support grant-related communication strategies. Work closely with the Director of Career Services to develop comprehensive career services for graduate students, including one-on-one coaching, resume workshops, and job search support. Provide writing support and education to graduate students, leveraging best practices in online feedback and tutoring. Maintain accurate records of student interactions, collecting data to inform service improvements and reporting to stakeholders. Essential Qualifications: The Ideal Candidate To excel in this role, you will possess: A Master's degree in a relevant field, with a strong background in student affairs, academic advising, or a related area. Experience working with graduate students, preferably in a higher education setting. Proven ability to provide academic, career, and personal support to students, with a focus on promoting student success and retention. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities. Familiarity with student success coaching models, such as Bettinger and Baker's coaching strategies. Knowledge of best practices in career development, writing support, and academic advising. Preferred Qualifications: Enhancing Your Application While not mandatory, the following qualifications will enhance your application: A Doctoral degree in a relevant field. Experience working with diverse student populations, including Hispanic and other underserved groups. Familiarity with grant-funded programs and project management. Knowledge of online tutoring and writing support best practices. Experience with data analysis and reporting, using tools such as Excel and other software.
