Grant Writer (Pathway to Paid Role)

Remote, USA Full-time
Powered By Love (PBL) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in grassroots efforts in Arizona with a bold vision to expand nationally. Since launching in 2023, we’ve delivered 44,000+ essential items—including hygiene kits, water, school supplies, food, clothing, and blankets to people experiencing homelessness and hardship. Our signature 831 Campaign (inspired by “8-3-1” = I love you) powers six sub-campaigns: • Powered By Love (toiletries & hygiene) • Powered By Water (clean water distribution) • Powered By Knowledge (school supplies) • Powered By Warmth (clothing & blankets) • Powered By Our Daily Bread (food) • Powered By You (sponsoring nonprofit learning tools) PBL is small but mighty: a one-person, volunteer-driven nonprofit with a clear mission to grow into a scalable, community-powered movement. About the Role We’re looking for a passionate Volunteer Grant Writer to join our team and help build the funding foundation that will take PBL from grassroots to national impact. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience, creative ownership, and a direct pathway to a paid role. Key responsibilities include: • Researching prospective grants, foundations, and corporate giving opportunities • Drafting compelling letters of intent (LOIs), proposals, and applications • Helping build a grant calendar and tracking system • Collaborating with the founder to align proposals with PBL’s bold growth strategy What You’ll Gain This is not just another volunteer role—it’s a chance to grow with the organization and directly shape its future. Growth Pathway • Volunteer (0–2 months) • Stipend (2–5 months) • Part-Time (5–12 months) • Full-Time/Senior (6++ months) Who We’re Looking For • Strong writing and research skills (grant writing experience is a plus, but not required) • Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven • Self-starter who thrives in a grassroots, startup-style nonprofit • Passionate about equity, dignity, and serving unhoused and vulnerable communities Why Join Us? • Be part of a ground-floor movement with bold national ambitions • Help secure the funding to bring love-in-action to scale—from 44,000 items to 831 million Apply tot his job
