Role Description Adjunct faculty at Central Carolina Community College facilitate transformative lifelong learning by incorporating discipline-specific learning outcomes through active learning opportunities, lectures, hands-on skill development, assignments, and appropriate classroom management. • Provide authentic student assessment that allows students to improve their knowledge and skills with each assignment. • Foster student success by establishing meaningful connections with students early in the semester to support the varying needs of each student throughout the term. • Teach students in online courses in the Department of Health Information Technology. • Engage students as full partners in the learning process, removing barriers to student progression in courses. • Create a dynamic instructional environment that promotes a positive, interactive, and inclusive learning experience for all students. • Maintain a Blackboard course with a syllabus and gradebook for each class. • Grade all assignments in a timely manner and ensure that all grades are reported within the 10-day college grading policy. • Provide personalized and constructive feedback on student assignments. • Respond to all student communication within two business days. • Report attendance weekly. • Support the college’s vision of being the college of choice for students, workforce partners, community leaders, and employees. Qualifications • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Health Information Technology or a related field. • Current Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential. • Minimum of two years full-time experience as a health information professional in a healthcare setting. Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in a Health Science field (preferred). • Post-secondary level teaching experience, working with diverse learners (preferred). • Experience teaching online classes (preferred). • Experience with Blackboard Ultra LMS (preferred).
