The salary for this position is set at a competitive salary.   Virtual Power Plant - Sr. Innovation Engineer Position Summary: The Sr. Innovation Engineer is a key strategic and tactical position within the VPP Innovation group. The Sr. Innovation Engineer is responsible for working at the direction of their supervisor to drive VPP modeling, tools, and projects needs to successful conclusions. Involved at very early ideation stages of the selling process, the Sr. Innovation Engineer will work closely with Sales, Program Engineers and VPP Management team members to support the selling process by creating assets and collateral. These assets include advanced financial and production mathematical models, as well as support presentation materials to aid the sales team. The Sr. Innovation Engineer will work collaboratively to analyze opportunities, new market opportunities, internal/external request and curate data as needed. Also, they will lead the methods and execution of maintaining well organized and accurate data rooms for the various projects. At the direction of their supervisor, the Sr. Innovation Engineer may also be involved in site survey activities in support of creating models or forecasts. Outside of project support, the Sr. Innovation Engineer will also be assigned certain research and market analysis tasks as sonnen works to update market models or engage in new market opportunities. The Sr. Innovation Engineer is a key thought leader and organized manager of both direct tasks as well as collaborative work streams. Key Responsibilities: • Create and maintain financial and technical performance models • Performing statistical analyses • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents • Collect and maintain large datasets • Develop new tools and processes to streamline processes for internal and external team members • Collaborate with Sales Team to analyze project opportunities • Research regulations, methodologies, technologies, and rates • Support departmental goals and objectives through activities as assigned • Other duties as necessary to ensure high quality, proactive, customer focused accomplishments Qualifications: • 5+ years of technical product experience within solar, electronics, or renewable energy technology industries • Prior experience in engineering and project modeling fields • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science related fields • Proven track record in team environments and time bound, high quality production projects • Highly organized with the ability to clearly communicate thoughts, schedules, and reports • Ability to understand complicated technical information and communicate said information to non-experts • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a desire to learn • Intelligent, accountable, and self-driven with a strong work ethic • Strong interest in energy or grid science Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in technical field • Strong interests in technology, renewable energy, and or energy storage • Strong desire to create solutions and drive team members to achievement • Experience with VBA • Experience with agile development practices Apply Job! Join Our Team!This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career.
