Key Responsibilities As a Remote Early Childhood Special Educator, your primary responsibilities will include: Conducting various assessments to track student progress and identify areas for improvement. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A degree in Special Education from an accredited institution. A valid Virginia Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement. At least 2 years of experience in a school setting, preferably in early childhood special education. All necessary clearances to work in our public/charter schools, including background checks and fingerprinting. Early childhood experience is required for this position, with a focus on special education. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications would be an asset: Experience working with students with diverse needs, including autism, ADHD, and other disabilities. Knowledge of evidence-based practices in special education, such as Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Response to Intervention (RTI). Experience with curriculum development and implementation, particularly in early childhood special education. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and students. Proficiency in educational technology, including learning management systems and online platforms.
