Key Responsibilities Transcribe several hours of Madurese audio/video data to a high standard of accuracy and quality. Translate the transcribed content into English, ensuring that the translation is accurate, idiomatic, and culturally relevant. Add metadata labels to the transcribed and translated content as required by the VoxCroft project manager. Conduct research tasks as relevant to Madurese language media and Madurese linguistic conventions. Work closely with the VoxCroft project manager to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard and within the required timeframe. Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills: Native-level proficiency in Madurese (speaking and writing) - prior experience in transcription will be advantageous. Fluency in English with a high degree of accuracy in translating from Madurese to English. Experience in using subtitling software such as SubtitleEdit or similar. Access to a reliable laptop with a good internet connection and functioning speakers/headphones. Strong research skills and ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with the VoxCroft project manager. Preferred Qualifications and Skills In addition to the essential qualifications and skills listed above, the following preferred qualifications and skills will be considered advantageous: Previous experience working as a transcriber and/or translator, particularly with Madurese language content. Familiarity with VoxCroft's project management tools and processes. Knowledge of Madurese linguistic conventions and cultural nuances. Experience working on a freelance or remote basis.
