The Information Technology Specialist I role involves creating customer-focused solutions and supporting a modern infrastructure while performing a variety of tasks on complex statewide systems and projects. Responsibilities Creating customer-focused solutions that are responsive and agile, supporting a modern infrastructure, tools, architecture, and standards to effectively provide efficient services following service-level agreements Performing a wide variety of tasks on complex statewide systems and projects including, on-premise and/or in-cloud including, but not limited to, requirements gathering, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting of business and technical solution Serving as a subject matter expert in the maintenance and support of on-premise and/or in-cloud systems; troubleshooting and fixing issues; providing production support and maintenance for mission critical systems, technical system configuration and upgrades; performance tuning; problem resolution; and collaborating with stakeholders and vendors in support of system functionality and enhancements as well as integrated testing of systems Working with diverse technical and non-technical personnel and management at local, state, and federal levels to provide support on system website, manage certificates and data-exchange protocols Skills Experience in requirements gathering, designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting business and technical solutions Ability to serve as a subject matter expert in the maintenance and support of on-premise and/or in-cloud systems Experience in troubleshooting and fixing issues Providing production support and maintenance for mission critical systems Technical system configuration and upgrades Performance tuning and problem resolution Collaboration with stakeholders and vendors in support of system functionality and enhancements Integrated testing of systems Ability to work with diverse technical and non-technical personnel and management at local, state, and federal levels Management of certificates and data-exchange protocols Benefits PLP 2025 Company Overview The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is dedicated to optimizing the health and well-being of the people in California.
