Investment Analyst

The Investment Analyst will support the ICED-T Team’s senior analysts in managing fixed income portfolios, which includes writing investment reviews, modeling financial outcomes, and analyzing investment risks. Responsibilities Identify and analyze company-specific and industry-wide investment risks Develop a framework for developing credit ratings and rating tolerances Translate investment risks into a credit rating Become familiar with deal specific and industry standard documentation Attend management presentations and actively participate in discussions on company strategy and performance where appropriate Interface and build relationships with sell side and third party research analysts Prepare comprehensive written reviews of individual investments Communicate changes in investment risk across the investment team and broader investment management complex on a timely basis Contribute to efforts in researching markets, companies and industries for identifying new investment opportunities Contribute to and participate in a due diligence process that includes meeting with issuer management, company site visits and the development of documentation Contribute to the preparation of investment memoranda in support of investment recommendations Interface with Credit, Trading and Portfolio Management for your portfolio companies, serve as a backup analyst in the absence of a primary analysts Attend and represent MFC/JH at conferences, roadshows and management meetings Contribute to associate analysts and intern recruitment efforts Contribute to direct marketing efforts through research, materials development and analysis Skills A Bachelor's degree Well developed quantitative and qualitative analytical skills Highly developed written and verbal presentation skills Competency in office software 0-2 years of relevant experience Pursuing or planning to pursue the CFA designation or an MBA Benefits Health, dental, mental health, vision, short- and long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance coverage, adoption/surrogacy and wellness benefits, and employee/family assistance plans Various retirement savings plans (including pension/401(k) savings plans and a global share ownership plan with employer matching contributions) Financial education and counseling resources Generous paid time off program in the U.S. includes up to 11 paid holidays, 3 personal days, 150 hours of vacation, and 40 hours of sick time (or more where required by law) each year Full range of statutory leaves of absence Company Overview Manulife is a leading international financial services group that helps people make their decisions easier and lives better.
