Junior Consultant - Public Health
About the position The Junior Consultant - Public Health position at Public Consulting Group (PCG) involves supporting government entities in assessing, refining, and implementing initiatives for public assistance programs. The role focuses on helping clients achieve social and economic self-sufficiency through various services, including program consulting and project management. The consultant will work within the Employment & Economic Services (EES) team, contributing to transformative solutions that improve communities and support individuals in need. Responsibilities • Conducts business analysis for various business platforms. • Prepares and presents parts of written status reports for clients. • Prepares and presents agendas and written status reports to and for clients. • Completes analysis on large data sets. • Develops competency in enterprise IT system analysis and development. • Develops competency in federal and state policy, specifically federal funding requirements. • Assists with the implementation of major project phases or tasks. • Participates on proposal writing teams, including writing and coordinating submissions. • Participates in data collection activities including conducting research, note taking and information distillation, and data entry. • Assists with preparation of other written reports, major deliverables, and other materials for clients. • Collects and enters project related data. • Assists in the development and maintenance of project budgets and prepares client invoices. • Other responsibilities as necessary. Requirements • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in consulting, government, public health, human services or other relevant field. • Strong interpersonal, organizational, research, presentation, time management, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills. • A detail-oriented problem solving approach to business and technical issues. • Flexibility and willingness to embrace change. • Self-starter possessing intellectual curiosity. • Enthusiasm for life-long learning and staying well-informed about current industry issues. • A commitment to deliver exceptional client service. • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to review and analyze policy and legislation. • Ability to work both in a team situation and autonomously. • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, in particular Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.
