Junior Systems Engineer - AJISS

They are seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to support the Royal Canadian Navy through Engineering Change projects, involving design, integration, and testing of naval systems. Responsibilities Develop the preliminary and detailed designs for system and subsystem elements Identify, characterize, and analyze issues in the system or its design through problem reports and document and design reviews Provide timely and accurate status updates Assess the impact of planned changes on the existing system Author or review technical documentation to capture the system and subsystem designs including the architecture, interfaces, and installation elements Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure the designs are consistent with needs, desires, and concerns of the end-users Support the development of verification and validation artifacts including plans and procedures Collaborate with other functions during the implementation and integration of the system and subsystem designs Resolution of technical issues arising during the implementation, integration and testing of the system and subsystem elements; and/or Support the installation and/or integration testing of the systems remotely or on customer site Conduct research on Naval Systems, System Requirements, Standards, and new technologies Generate, describe, and recommend solutions to customer concerns as part of the option analysis process Produce engineering artefacts including (but not limited to) first principles drawings and system schematics, Statements of Work, System Requirements Documents (SRD), Impact Analyses, and technical reports Survey and analysis of shipboard systems Planning, authoring, and executing integration and acceptance tests; and Coordinating and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary dispersed team Skills University or college degree in engineering or a related discipline Ability to obtain clearances as specified under the Regulatory Compliance section Any kind of professional experience in the design and integration of complex systems or software would be an asset Benefits Company paid Extended Health, Dental, HSA, Life, AD&D, Short-term Disability, Cancer Care Program, travel insurance, Employee Assistance Plan and Well-Being program.
