Job Summary We are looking for a dedicated K-8 After School Tutor to work with students in a remote setting. The tutor will collaborate with classroom teachers to provide accommodations and modifications to the curriculum, create a supportive learning environment, and ensure students have the resources they need to succeed. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an urban or low-income setting, a passion for education, and a commitment to our mission. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide accommodations and modifications to the curriculum Create a conducive learning environment that fosters academic growth and social-emotional learning Design and facilitate differentiated and personalized learning goals and activities Serve as a role-model for students and invest in their well-being, health, and safety Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking skills Recognize the relationship between social-emotional learning and academic performance Prepare students for college and instill in them our core values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty Requirements To be considered for this role, you must: Possess or be eligible for New Jersey certification Have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.00 (if graduated after September 2015) or 2.75 (before September 2015) Have preferably 2+ years of experience working in an urban or low-income setting Be committed to living out our mission and values Demonstrate academic competence in subject area(s) Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice Preferred Qualifications We prefer candidates who: Have experience working with students with various behavioral and medical needs Are familiar with differentiated instruction and personalized learning Have a strong understanding of social-emotional learning and its impact on academic performance What We Offer As a K-8 After School Tutor with Foundation Academies, you can expect: A competitive salary of $80 per day Opportunities for professional growth and development A collaborative and supportive work environment The chance to make a positive impact in the lives of students A flexible remote work arrangement (Monday-Thursday, 3:45pm-5:00pm) Work Environment and Culture At Foundation Academies, we value a culture of growth, respect, and inclusivity.
