Live Phone Receptionist & Call Coordinator for Construction Company (U.S. Accent Required) - Contract to Hire
Job Description: We are a growing construction company looking for a professional live phone receptionist or answering service to handle inbound calls and limited outbound calls on our behalf. This is a voice-critical role, and callers must feel like they are speaking directly with a U.S.-based office. All calls must be answered by a real person using our company name. There must be no AI, no automation, no beeps, and no IVR or menu systems. Calls should be answered naturally, professionally, and without any indication that the call is being routed or outsourced. The primary responsibility will be answering inbound calls, speaking clearly and confidently with callers, taking accurate messages, and qualifying basic lead information. You will follow structured call scripts and routing instructions that we provide, and you must reliably forward call notes via text, email, or CRM immediately after each call. In addition to inbound calls, you will also make simple outbound calls when requested. These calls may include project updates, scheduling confirmations, invoice or estimate follow-ups, and other straightforward administrative outreach. These are not sales calls and will always be made using clear instructions or scripts provided by us. A natural American accent is non-negotiable. A Southern or Midwest accent is preferred but not required. Callers must not suspect outsourcing or offshore support, and voice clarity and tone are critical to this role. Call volume is expected to be 500+ minutes per month, including both inbound and outbound calls, and may increase depending on project load and follow-up needs. Calls will primarily involve homeowners, property managers, and vendors, and will be limited to construction and service-related conversations only. Applicants must have prior experience as a live receptionist, answering service, or phone-based virtual assistant, and must be able to sound natural and conversational while still following instructions closely. Reliability, attention to detail, and consistent availability during agreed-upon hours are required. Experience supporting construction, trades, or other service-based businesses is a strong plus.
