Role Overview As a Mail Handler Assistant, you will play a crucial role in USPS operations, requiring excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and other departments across various platforms, including email, phone, and in-person meetings. Your primary responsibilities will include customer assistance, mail handling, clerical work, and mail services. You will be an integral part of our team, working to ensure that mail is delivered promptly and efficiently to prevent delays. Key Responsibilities: Customer Assistance: Address customer inquiries and resolve mail-related issues in a timely and professional manner. Mail Handling: Sort, label, and distribute mail promptly to prevent delays, ensuring that mail is delivered to the correct recipients. Clerical Work: Perform various administrative tasks to support USPS operations, including data entry, record-keeping, and other clerical duties. Mail Services: Assist customers with services such as mail forwarding and temporary holds, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that customer needs are met. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Age: You must be at least 18 years old to apply. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for success in this role. Physical Abilities: You must be able to lift, sort, and handle mail, which may require standing for long periods, bending, and lifting. Preferred Qualifications: Previous Experience: Previous experience in customer service, mail handling, or a related field is preferred. Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer software, such as arenaflex Office, is desirable.
