Marketing Coordinator (Graphic Design)
CKUA Radio is Canada’s first public broadcaster, dedicated to enriching lives through arts and culture. The Marketing Coordinator (Graphic Design) will play a central creative role in bringing the CKUA brand to life through high-quality graphic design and visual storytelling across various channels. Responsibilities Creating strong, on-brand design assets that support programming, fundraising, events, and audience engagement Leading the creation and adaptation of visual assets, ensuring CKUA has the in-house capability to execute design needs efficiently, consistently, and creatively Collaborating with Marketing and Content colleagues to develop creative concepts and translate them into finished assets, ensuring visuals align with campaign goals, audience needs, and CKUA’s brand standards Supporting fundraising and revenue-generating initiatives by creating materials that help engage, inform, and inspire audiences and donors Designing shareable graphics, short-form visual content, and campaign assets that support engagement across CKUA’s channels Supporting real-time content capture needs during events, campaigns, or special initiatives Skills Strong graphic design skills across a range of formats, platforms, and timelines Ability to take ideas from concept through completion and produce polished, professional design work Grounded, community-centric approach to work Ability to build trust easily and work well with a wide range of personalities Clear and thoughtful communication skills Ability to take direction, ask clarifying questions, and adapt work based on input Demonstrated experience with graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign Experience creating assets for digital and print use, including social media graphics, web visuals, email campaigns, promotional materials, and event or campaign collateral Ability to manage competing priorities with steadiness and care Understanding that strong design work is both a technical skill and a relationship-based practice Ability to build positive, respectful working relationships Awareness of how visual communication and interpersonal dynamics impact diverse audiences and colleagues Background in graphic design, marketing, communications, digital media, or related creative roles Relevant professional or lived experience that demonstrates strong design capability and collaborative practice Experience with motion or video tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar Familiarity with platforms such as WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva, or social media scheduling tools Benefits Comprehensive benefits package including pension plan Company Overview Founded in 1927, CKUA is committed to inspiring and connecting people through the power of music, arts, culture, and story.
