Mechanical/Industrial Designer for Conveyor-Based Inspection System
We are building a conveyor-based inspection & rejection system and need a designer who can work closely with us from concept → industrial design → engineering → CAD → vendor integration. This is not a simple CAD job - we want someone who can think with us, refine ideas, propose design improvements, and help integrate multiple mechanical subsystems into one complete product. Responsibilities: 1. Work with us on early industrial design & layout concepts (sketches, iterations) 2. Provide mechanical engineering input for feasibility and manufacturability 3. Create complete 3D CAD models for conveyors, housings, sensor mounts, brackets, and assemblies 4. Design adjustability, access panels, safety covers, and structural elements 5. Optimize the design for fabrication methods (sheet metal, CNC, extrusion, plastics) 6. Join calls with vendors to explain requirements and review their CAD 7. Integrate vendor components into the final assembly 8. Work with us through prototyping and refinement Ideal Candidate: 1. Experience designing conveyors, automation equipment, or industrial machines 2. Strong in both industrial design + mechanical engineering 3. Can iterate quickly and work with rough sketches 4. Understands sheet metal, plastics, extrusion, CNC, and simple mechanisms 5. Comfortable collaborating on calls with suppliers/manufacturers 6. Able to suggest improvements, alternatives, and smarter layouts Apply tot his job
