Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care West Springfield team. As a Medical Assistant, you will work closely with our physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants to ensure the highest level of care for our patients. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team that functions at the highest level, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient experiences. Key Responsibilities: Provide administrative and clinical support to our healthcare team, including preparing patients for procedures, taking vital signs, and performing phlebotomy. Assist with patient flow, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients. Perform simple laboratory procedures, prepare specimens for transport to labs, and maintain accurate records. Develop strong interpersonal communication skills, providing excellent customer service and telephone etiquette. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities. Utilize computer programs for data entry and retrieval, and demonstrate proficiency in using a multi-line telephone system. Stay up-to-date with medical terminology and procedures, ensuring a high level of clinical knowledge. Requirements: Essential Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an Assistant (MA) educational program preferred but not required. Certification in basic life support through the American Heart Association and knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard required. Minimum 6 months of healthcare experience. Phlebotomy skills preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Certified Clinical Medical Assistants (CCMAs), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMAs), or Medical Assistants certified through the American Medical Technologies (AMT) are strongly preferred. Excellent interpersonal communication ability, customer service skills, and telephone etiquette. Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment, organize multiple tasks, and prioritize responsibilities. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and present professionally with a pleasant personality. Skills and Competencies: Strong clinical and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficiency in using computer programs and multi-line telephone systems.
