A scribe is a medical records clerk who assists physicians and other health care providers with documenting patient encounters, completing DBQs and MOs, and maintaining accurate and timely medical records. A scribe works both remotely and on-site, depending on the needs of the provider and the facility. A scribe may also perform other administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, scanning documents, and filing records. Position: Medical Scribe Responsibilities: - Accurately and efficiently document patient encounters, medical histories, and procedures in real-time -This position is responsible for performing duties related to service-related Veteran claims with the Veteran Affairs by thorough review of records provided per claim. -Documenting relevant findings and assisting providers in completion of time sensitive claim records appropriately and per VA guidelines as requested. -Assist the provider with completing medical claims by thorough review, consolidation and documentation of medical records. Minimum Requirement: - Accepting Only Green Card Holders or US Citizens • Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS), or equivalent preferred • Experience with electronic health records systems, coding systems, and data entry • Experience with DBQs and MOs from retired physicians preferred. • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology. • Medical School Graduate. • Knowledge of VA policies and procedures, HIPAA standards, and Joint Commission standards • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
