About the Role: Pharmacy Data Entry Technician blithequark is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Nationally Certified Pharmacy Data Entry Technician to join its team. As a Pharmacy Data Entry Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting licensed pharmacists with the preparation of prescriptions and other health-related products, ensuring timely and accurate processing of medication orders. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, leveraging your technical skills and passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities Accurately and efficiently process medication orders into the pharmacy operating system, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws. Perform medication history interviews, food-drug interaction counseling, and process prescriptions following established error prevention procedures. Utilize multiple software programs to review patient profiles and process medication orders, including hand-written Physician Order Sheets, Electronic Prescriptions, Reorder Requests, and Phone Order Physician Sheets. Enter correct hour of administration on prescriptions for automated/robotic dispensing devices to fulfill and package medications. Conduct spot checks for errors and follow procedures for remediation, maintaining patient records with a strong attention to detail. Verify the accuracy of patient and prescription information, referring any questions or concerns to Pharmacists or Supervisors. Maintain confidentiality regarding patient medications and illnesses, protecting sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and company policies. Essential Skills and Abilities To excel in this role, you will need to possess: The ability to read and interpret prescription SIG codes, documenting information on prescriptions, third-party forms, and communication forms. Strong knowledge of product names, locations, and drug usages, including SIG Codes. Proficiency in entering and retrieving data from various operating systems employed in prescription processing and drug ordering and packaging. Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills, with a service-oriented approach. Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of management, associates, clients, and the public. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliable attendance, with the ability to work well in a team environment. Education, Experience, and Certifications To be considered for this role, you must: Be a fully licensed technician in the State of Indiana. Hold a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) license. Complete required employer orientation and ongoing training needs as directed by the pharmacy.
