Position Overview As an Online Instructor - Construction Management, you will be responsible for teaching online courses in the Construction Management program. This is a part-time position that offers a competitive salary of $2,295 per 3-hour credit course taught. The estimated hours per week will vary depending on the schedule, which includes day, night, and weekend classes. Key Responsibilities Teach online courses in Construction Management, including course preparation, delivery, and assessment Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that align with course objectives Provide individualized support and guidance to students, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and effective manner Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and grades Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other activities that support the college's mission and goals Stay current with industry developments and advancements in Construction Management, incorporating this knowledge into course materials and delivery Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to enhance student learning outcomes and program effectiveness Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this opportunity, you must possess the following qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Construction Management or a related field/discipline Or, a Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in a construction-related field/discipline Or, a Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field/discipline with 3 years of work-related experience in a construction-related field Or, an Associate's degree in a construction-related field/discipline with 7 years of work experience in a construction-related field Preferred Qualifications: Previous online teaching experience Certifications in online teaching Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong pedagogical skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, with minimal supervision Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Familiarity with online learning platforms and technologies Knowledge of Construction Management principles, practices, and industry developments Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Baton Rouge Community College, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our faculty members.
