Job Summary As a Patient Appointment Scheduler, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that our patients receive timely and efficient scheduling for appointments with multiple specialty practices across western Virginia. You'll work in a high-call-volume environment, receiving inbound calls and placing outbound calls to patients and providers. Your excellent customer service skills, critical thinking abilities, and knowledge of medical terminology will enable you to provide exceptional support to our patients and team members. Key Responsibilities: Schedules patients for appointments with multiple specialty practices across a wide geographic range throughout western Virginia Receives inbound calls and places outbound calls in a high-call-volume environment Provides excellent customer service and responds to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner Utilizes critical thinking skills to resolve scheduling conflicts and address patient concerns Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient information and scheduling records Collaborates with healthcare providers and team members to ensure seamless scheduling and patient care Adheres to regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures Requirements: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required Associate's degree or continued administrative education preferred Experience: Three years of experience in a customer service or call center position, preferably in healthcare Skills and Competencies: Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to multitask and process a high volume of calls in an information and technologically intensive environment Knowledge of medical terminology and Microsoft software applications preferred Bilingual skills a plus Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute Ability to work with diverse groups under stressful conditions What We Offer: Competitive Salary and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including: Attractive salary range Full-time employment status Comprehensive health insurance Retirement savings plan Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for professional growth and development Remote Work Option: We offer a remote work option for this position, providing flexibility and work-life balance.
