Job Summary As a Pharmacy Technician at Molina Healthcare, you will be responsible for managing pharmacy benefit programs, including formulary management, clinical pharmacy services, and oversight of medication use policies. You will work closely with our pharmacy team to ensure that our members receive the medications they need while adhering to safe and cost-effective practices. This is a remote opportunity, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home while still being part of a dynamic and supportive team. Key Responsibilities Prior Authorization and Formulary Management: Perform initial receipt and review of non-formulary or prior authorization requests against plan-approved criteria. Request additional information from providers as needed to properly evaluate requests. Approval and Denial Process: Accurately enter online approvals or denials of requests. Make and carry out simple prior authorization requests within established policies and procedures. Program Development and Administration: Participate in the development and administration of programs designed to enhance the utilization of targeted drugs and identify cost-saving pharmacy practices. Operational Support: Identify and report departmental operational issues and resource needs to appropriate management. Assist Molina Member Services, pharmacies, and health plan providers in resolving member prescription claim, prior authorization, or pharmacy services access issues. Communication and Education: Articulate Pharmacy Management policies and procedures to pharmacy/health plan providers and other Molina staff. Requirements Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. Experience: 2 years' experience as a Pharmacy Technician required. 3+ years of experience preferred. Certification: Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician Certification required. Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. Technical Skills: Proficiency in pharmacy management software and Microsoft Office applications.
