Role Snapshot: Compensation: Competitive salary with opportunities for bonuses and benefits Company: Workwarp Position: Principal Engineer - Outside Plant Telecom Network Design and Deployment Location: Remote Start Date: Immediate openings available Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Principal Engineer - Outside Plant to oversee the design, engineering, and construction of outside plant telecom networks. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with other engineers, contractors, and external vendors to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget. If you have an in-depth understanding of outside plant engineering, telecom network deployment, and applicable industry standards, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the design, engineering, and construction of outside plant telecom networks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations Collaborate with other engineers, contractors, and external vendors to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget Develop and maintain positive relationships with external vendors and contractors, negotiating contracts and agreements as needed Ensure all projects are completed according to applicable industry standards, including safety regulations and quality control measures Monitor project progress, providing feedback and guidance to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective outside plant engineering operations Review and analyze existing outside plant engineering operations to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their roles Ensure safety regulations are followed at all times, promoting a culture of safety and well-being within the team Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field Minimum 10 years of experience in outside plant engineering, telecom network deployment, or a related field In-depth understanding of outside plant engineering, telecom network deployment, and applicable industry standards Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions Experience with project management tools and software, including MS Project, Asana, and Trello Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field Additional certifications in outside plant engineering, telecom network deployment, or a related field Experience with agile project management methodologies and DevOps practices Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and software-defined networking Experience with budgeting and cost management, including financial planning and analysis Skills and Competencies: Strong technical skills in outside plant engineering, telecom network deployment, and applicable industry standards Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a flexible and agile mindset Strong attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple projects and priorities competing for attention Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Workwarp, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
