We’re developing a Multi-Sensory Asset Intelligence Platform (MSAIP) to revolutionize asset heavy sectors like Power & Utilities, Renewables, and Public Infrastructure. Our goal is to become the B2B Perplexity AI for the physical world. The ThreeV platform uses frontier AI techniques like customized large language models, as well as the latest computer vision model architectures to drastically improve the end to end inspection process. This allows customers to cut operations & maintenance (O&M) costs, streamline inspection decisions, and improve data accuracy to prevent asset failures. Global high profile safety incidents like wildfires over recent years underscore the urgent need for our platform, making it not just innovative but essential. Job Summary We are looking for an exceptionally strong Principal Software Engineer with deep cloud engineering, architectural, and coding expertise to help us scale our cutting edge AI SaaS platform. This is a high impact, hands on role for someone who thrives on building production grade systems, mentoring engineers, and shaping the technical direction of a venture backed, AI native startup. You will work across multiple SDKs, cloud platforms, services, and data pipelines, writing code, reviewing complex PRs, defining architectural patterns, and acting as a force multiplier for engineering velocity. You'll be instrumental in helping us evolve from rapid prototyping to scalable, high quality systems that support inferencing at massive scale for utility infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Architect, design, and maintain high quality code in Python Design data pipelines that can consume from various systems in different shapes and sizes, including but not limited to Kafka, sensors, real time streams, and data lakes Be well versed in AWS, Azure, container based applications, and Kubernetes Work on different types of data engineering workloads, such as incremental, delta, and single source of truth patterns Review and approve PRs across services and SDKs with deep context and constructive feedback Rapidly prototype, scaffold systems, and break down complex architectures into modular subsystems and micro-services Lead and foster a high code quality culture within the organization, while carefully implementing software design patterns, messaging patterns and architectures Own technical strategy for scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure and multi-cloud setups Contribute to decision making on "build vs buy," especially around open source and commercial tools Build integrations and abstractions around customers’ legacy business systems such as SAP and GIS Help create and deploy modern data pipelines, APIs and SDKs Drive automation first thinking across environments, pipelines, and deployments Maintain high quality, reliable data engineering pipelines Actively participate in customer engagements, translating feedback into product and platform improvements Build tools and interfaces with UX sensitivity, working with the product design team focusing on user centric business software Mentor junior engineers in multiple time zones and collaborate cross functionally with product, data science, and customer success teams Create low latency, high throughput systems Minimum Qualifications 8+ years of full time software engineering experience, including in staff, lead, or architect level roles Deep experience with cloud native architecture and developing applications on Cloud, especially on AWS (must be hands on) and Azure Well versed in Databricks, Delta Lake, Apache Kafka, Airflow, and DAGs Strong Python skills preferred, experience in multiple programming languages highly valued Experience with containers, CI/CD pipelines, and modern cloud tooling Demonstrated ability to design and ship cloud applications at scale with low latency, auto-scaling, and request routing capabilities Familiarity with SDK development, API design (both consuming and building), and schema-less DBs Comfortable navigating both relational and NoSQL database architectures Track record of building high quality, open source or enterprise grade software Background working in high caliber tech companies or open source centric environments (e.g., Databricks, Hugging Face, Replicate) Solid understanding of software design patterns, cloud architectures and messaging patterns Preferred Qualifications Experience with or understanding of AI/ML platforms, computer vision labeling tools, and data pipelines Built or contributed to systems supporting computer vision or remote sensing data via data pipelines Prior work in or exposure to enterprise scale legacy modernization initiatives Background in utilities, energy, infrastructure, or regulated high complexity industries Education Bachelor’s degree minimum, preferably in a relevant field such as: Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical or scientific discipline. Other educational backgrounds are encouraged to apply especially if Minimum or Preferred Qualifications above are met. A Master’s degree is preferred but not required, especially if the candidate has extensive related industry experience. However, we also believe in the value of in person connections. To facilitate this, we hold multiple all-hands team offsite meetings each year, fostering collaboration and team cohesion. For this role candidates in California or candidates willing to relocate to California will be prioritized.
