About the position The Product Strategist, Consultant role at Blue Shield of California focuses on product strategy, planning, development, and go-to-market initiatives for new and emerging health products. This position is integral to evolving business line portfolios, managing product performance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative health solutions that align with the company's mission of providing high-quality healthcare at affordable prices. Responsibilities • Evolve business line portfolios to meet membership and operational income targets. • Assist in architecting product strategy and plan designs based on benefit intent. • Prepare materials in a storyboard format for clear communication of concepts. • Create and interpret business product performance analytics for ongoing portfolio management. • Ensure delivery of innovation pipeline submissions and translate product strategy into business requirements. • Develop presentations and metrics for cross-functional partners such as Sales and Operations. • Support compliance with internal and external audits and regulatory requirements. • Monitor product performance and recommend areas for improvement. • Conduct intermediate to advanced data analysis using tools like pivot tables and financial modeling. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree in business (MBA), public health (MPH), or related field preferred. • At least 7 years of relevant experience in product management or strategy. • Demonstrated experience in analytics, reporting, and developing key performance metrics. • Substantial knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation. • Experience in health insurance or healthcare is strongly preferred. • Effective verbal and written communication skills for creating and delivering presentations. Nice-to-haves • Experience with financial modeling and data visualization tools. • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
